Madrid is one of these places I could come over and over just for the food. And I’m not kidding – there is so many amazing restaurants in Madrid – even on the low end. Quality of ingredients in Spain is so amazing, most restaurants simply can’t help but do something great with it. Usually, coming to Madrid’s restaurants will make you very, very happy. Believe me.
Going out to eat in Madrid takes a bit of planning, because there’s so much to do. Focus not only on the obvious high-end restaurants, but also take time to explore traditional Spanish cuisine and Tapas in Madrid. Some of the best food I’ve had in Spain was in unexpected, small restaurants and bars.
DiverXO – Very creative Spanish cuisine
DSTAge – A must-see extremely creative restaurant.
La Terraza del Casino
Hojaldrería – For the sweet tooth
La Taberna de Elia – Meat lover’s paradise a bit outside the center
El Pescador – A real Spanish seafood restaurant at its best
Mesón Txistu – A high quality basque traditional restaurant
Sala de Despiece
TAPAS & WINE BARS
Cerveceria Cervantes – Not a wine, but a beer bar with tapas
StreetXO – The smaller and more traditional version of the high-end DiverXO restaurant
BARS & ROOFTOPS
The Penthouse – A fantastic rooftop music bar
